I have worked in higher education for over 25 years. An alumnus of the University of Melbourne, I have a higher research degree in History and Literature and consider myself something of a history nerd. For the past 10 years I’ve worked at the La Trobe Student Union, first as Office Coordinator before moving into Advocacy.

I’m passionate in my support for students and am excited to be coordinating the Advocacy Service at LTSA. I am really looking forward to continuing La Trobe University’s strong tradition of advocacy through the provision of a service that is supportive, inclusive and accessible to students across all LTU campuses. In my spare time I enjoy walking, reading, creating elaborate desserts and following the exploits of the Collingwood Football Club.

Previously, I have worked with Uniting Care and formerly in the banking industry. I am a graduate of Economics from the University of Melbourne and hold a master’s in economics from RMIT University.

I became involved in the Positive Psychology movement in 2018 in order to practice this framework in financial counselling with University students. After completing the Professional Graduate Certificate in Positive Psychology in 2020, I am commencing my Masters in 2021, while also teaching in the Financial Counselling Diploma at RMIT.

The LTSA presents a great challenge to assist students in need in every campus, so that every student has an opportunity to succeed at La Trobe University. In my spare time, I can be found walking my dog and playing competition golf.

I feel as though our community has become one large family over the course of time as we face challenges and problems together, and at the same time create many great memories. I am very fortunate to have this opportunity to extend my joy of work and especially extend my engagement with international student committee and the team. Looking forward to work with the Team LTSA, and to develop excellent service and support to the new Student Council together.

I started at La Trobe University as an International Student to do a Master's degree in IT in 2017. Since my first semester, I was heavily involved with several clubs under the La Trobe Student Union LTSU Clubs are an integral part of Student life, and in fact, the Heart of University. I can proudly say that getting engaged with Clubs is one of the best things I have done after coming to Australia, and it helped change my life in many ways, learn more about the place and develop many skills.

I started as an Event Assistant at LTSU in 2017 and assisted all areas of events run by clubs, the LTSU & Student Theatre and Film LTU. I am excited to run and support clubs’ and see all the great events and activities that Clubs and Societies will bring to the LTU community. I have worked at the Bundoora campus of La Trobe University for 18 wonderful years. For the past 10 years I’ve been employed as Receptionist and Volunteers Officer at the LTSU and was the first port of call for students seeking help from the support services. My friendly welcoming manner to all who came in the door, meant that I was often referred to as the face of the Student Union.

I am excited to be back on campus in my role as Advocacy Engagement Officer for LTSA. I’m passionate about student life and creating an environment that is positive and welcoming. Not to mention, I love a good chat! In my spare time, I love to read, dance and listen to thought-provoking podcasts.
